The Big Ten Network has invested in many mobile HD “Flypacks” that now live at each of the 12 Big Ten schools. These flypacks are designed to allow students to produce their own sports broadcasts that stream live on and often re-air on the Big Ten Network.

At the University of Michigan, we push our flypack to the limit to produce the highest quality broadcasts of Michigan sporting events possible. As a part of the Michigan Student U team, you can gain valuable first hand experience working on sports broadcasts that reach over 70+ million homes!

Our StudentU broadcasts are completely produced by students, which means they have the opportunity to showcase and develop their talents on a nation-wide stage.

Here is a list to give you an idea of the spectrum of roles that make up a successful broadcast:

Producer, Director, Play-by-Play Announcer, Color Announcer, Sideline Reporter, Technical Director, Replay Operator, Flybox Operator, Camera Operator, Sideline Assistant, Utility, Graphics Coordinator, Graphics Designer, Highlights Editor, Video Package Editor, Interview Coordinator, Interviewer, Facilities Relations Manager, Statistician, Researcher, And many more!
